Lost your glasses in the lake? Broken them so badly even we can't fix them? Want to use your existing frames but can't part with them for a week to get new lenses put in, elsewhere? We can help.
With a wide selection of prescription lenses in stock, we can get you back on your feet quickly.
Same day service is available for most Single Vision prescriptions, and having an in-house lab means we don't need to send your existing frames away if you just want to update your lenses.
We believe customers deserve a say when it comes to important purchasing decisions. We want you to understand what you're buying, why you're buying it, and what the alternatives are. There's more than one way to solve a vision problem, and we intend to provide a product that accurately meets your needs, and your budget.
We primarily deal in Hoya lenses. We find they offer the right blend of quality, affordability, and commitment to customer satisfaction to meet our customer's needs, while still leading the industry on lens design.
"Extreme lens protection."
"Dependable, like your morning coffee."

Frame selection only counts if any of it fits. We take pride in curating our selection to ensure we've got proper selection in your size, your shape, and if we're lucky, even in your colour.
At Forge Valley Optical, we seek to embody an era that prioritized craftsmanship and repairability, rather than disposable products. We often hear customers express an interest in vintage, classic, or traditional eyeglass designs, which are not well represented in the mainstream industry. We seek to fill these needs, and believe that crafting eyewear is a combination of art, science, and service; rather than a mere retail arrangement.
And if we don't have what you're looking for, no hard feelings. We're still happy to sell you affordable lenses to fit your existing frames, or frames you've found somewhere else, provided they are of opthalmic quality, and structurally sound.
We're here to do right by you. If it's wrong, let us make it right. If it's broken, let us fix it. 1 to 2 Years manufacturer's warranty on lenses. 2 Years 'because we want to' warranty on all current frames.
And beyond. Even after your warranty 'expires', we're here to provide service, adjust frames, make repairs, and replace parts if necessary.
Eyeglasses require the occassional bit of upkeep. We'll continue to replace your nosepads, thoroughly clean your eyewear, adjust temples, and more, at no charge.
To us, it's a matter of professional pride, honour, and trust.

We have a long history of providing the general public with free repairs, wherever possible, and we like to think we're reasonably talented at it.
Temple tips cracked and biting? Lost a screw, a nosepads, or even a whole arm? We'll do our best to look after you.
Occassional fees may apply for extensive repairs/rebuilds, or for significant part replacement. Disclaimer: Not every repair is perfect. Our primary goal is to make it so that you can see again; we're unfortunately not in the refurbish and restore business at this time. We don't promise miracles, but they've been known to happen, probably more often than is our fair share.
Glasses belong on your face, not on the floor. If they're not fitting right, they're not doing their job. Bring 'em on down, we'll straighten them out.
Frame Arms should not be pinching into your temples, nor should they be relying on the springs to stay splayed out without breaking. Typically, they should be wrapped comfortably behind your ear, preventing the eyeglasses from sliding forward. Nosepads should be on either side of your bridge, not perched on top of it. They should not be biting in, nor stabbing near your eye. Sometimes a different shape of nosepad is necessary, and we'll swap them out.
A poor fitting frame can cause headaches, sore spots on your skin, reduced visual clarity, neausia or virtigo, and balance issues. If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, or just want us to tighten a few things up, come in and see us, and we'll be happy to help.

We avoid ultrasonic cleaners, as they have a habit of accelerating paint flaking and coating deterioration. Instead, we'll take your lenses out and remove the oil buildup from the cracks manually, so that your cleaning cloth won't keep pulling it back onto the lens. We'll also give your nosepads a scrub, or replace them if they're too far gone.
That said, if you bring us a frame so covered in gunk that we need to 'excavate' the nosepads with a pick... we'll still do it, buuuut we reserve the right to make you feel slightly guilty for not bringing them in sooner...
(Ladies, feel free to volunteer your husband's glasses for a cleaning. We know. We understand. We've got you covered.)
Having trouble with your glasses? New prescription not working as expected? Bring them in. More often than not, they just need an adjustment, and we'll look after that for you.
If something more complex is going on, whether it's with your eyes, the eyeglasses, or the prescription itself, we can get you the information you need to take the next steps towards getting things solved.
